Biography

Todd Ingram, MA, RN is an Assistant Professor, Clinical at the University of Iowa College of Nursing. He received a BA in English, a BSN, and a MA in nursing -- all from the University of Iowa. Before entering teaching, he was a staff nurse and unit manager for 15 years on an acute care, adult psychiatric unit at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Recently he has worked as an Advanced Practice Nurse for the Psychiatric Nursing Consultation and Liaison Service at UIHC. Mr. Ingram has frequently presented educational programs in the region on violence management, crisis intervention and suicide assessment. His current research interests are in prediction and prevention of violence in nursing care settings, the effects of caregivers' nonverbal behavior on clients' levels of anxiety, and psychiatric issues in nursing care of older adults.
